Uploading web pages

  1. Open your FTP client
    • In the menu, Go to File – Site Manager to connect to the website.
    • The website is, for example, abc.com.au

      FTP Host Address(s): abc.com.au
      Then login with the followingdetails: Username - arrbcomau
      Password - 1234567

    • In General tab, filling in the blanks

      Remember to add information to Comments in case of the password  missing as the password field is hidden.

  2. Get the site connected. Before you upload all the files, make sure you change the connection string of live database in web.config and admin/database_function.asp files.
  3. Upload the local files to the website. This may take a few minutes.

Copying Database

  1. Connect to the live database.
    • You will need to connect to the VPN before you get your database connected. In Windows, go to start, connect to, and select the VPN you want to connect. If there are no VPN to connect to, ask someone to create.
    • Open SQL Server 2008 management Studio, and change the server name to the server you want it to connect to, and put the username and password to connect. Make sure the username and password are owner access.
  2. Copy all the data to the live database. One of the ways to do this is to open Microsoft SQL Publishing Wizard.
    • Select Provide connection string radio button and copy the local connectionString, say SERVER=SEAN\SEAN;DATABASE=AARB;uid=sa;pwd=arbuzas;async=true, from web.config file in your website.
    • Select the database and click next
    • Select Script to file radio button and put the file name of the sql file to be generated, and then click finish.
    • Execute the file in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio after making sure you select the correct database you want the data copied to.
  3. Type the URL in your browser and see if it works

Setting the Permissions

  1. Go to

  2. Login in with ftp
  3. Go to My Services>Web Hostings
  4. In the top menu go to Permissions
  5. In the right bar, check Apply changes to all subfolders and files, and set Acess to Full for lgpvawnetau,  and finally click update.
