1. Upload the job.
2. Go through the fee proposal and make sure there is a page that shows each CMS module with content in all possible configurations. For instance for paragraphs the website needs to show:
- Heading, text, image, image caption, download
- Followed by full width image
- Followed by heading text
3. Make sure the content is in Latin from www.lipsum.com and the images are either:
- From the clients website
- A simple colour in the clients corporate colours with the text "Sample image"
Dummy images degrade the appearance of our site – remember, we work for designers and this is critical to them.
4. Make sure all forms have a thank you page.
5. Make sure you create a user that will be the main administrator of the site. This user should have access to all modules and all pages. We do not issue the site administrator username/password to our clients.
6. Only populate the site as the website editor, not admin.
7. Check all forms can be completed and are inserted into the database. Do not insert stupid dummy data, use data that is appropriate for the field eg for a Name field, don’t put in “jkfhdgfjghdfjfhgd” put in “John Smith”.
8. Test populating forms with absolute minimum data.
9. Test populating forms with all fields having as much content as you can stuff in to them.
10. Check the search works. Try hiding a page, is it hidden from the search? Try deleting a page, is it hidden from the search?
11. Check all site link are valid via http://linkchecker.sourceforge.net
12. Prepare an email to the client like this:
