Add Video Via Flash To A Website

The easiest way to add a movie to a website is to upload it to YouTube and simply embed the HTML YouTube provides you to insert.

However, sometimes clients don't want their movies on YouTube.
In order to upload such movies to a website, do the following:

  1. Convert the movie to FLV using SUPER, dimensions needs to be divisible by 16.
  2. (Optional) If you cannot open the resulting FLV, try downloading Wimpy FLV player.
  3. (Optional) Create a preview image before the video is played, the same size as the output video file.
  4. Download JW FLV player (swf + js files) to put on the website.
  5. Upload the JW files and the video file
  6. On the page where you want to show the video, insert the HTML code (see the sample from JW). Don't forget to change all the parameters (video file, preview image, width, height) which may be on more than one places.
